I got to hear this performed live and loved it! Sadly, there is no recording available for purchase or streaming other than this YouTube video.
Okko Kamu, another exponent of great Finnish orchestral directorship and at the time of recording this album head of the Lahti Symphony, here leads the Royal Philharmonic and the English cellist Jamie Walton on a beautiful program of Russian late-Romantic music.
As expected from Signum Classics, the recording quality is top-notch, with the warm-toned and closely-miked soloist in front of a very nicely recorded and mixed orchestra.
Highly recommended!!
Thanks @killdozer for this - excellent playing and sound quality.
It’s very nice and I’m glad you’re liking. In truth I think @Andreas_Philipp1 was first to post it
This is also very nice indeed - another great @killdozer recommendation (maybe also @Andreas_Philipp1 ). Particularly enjoyed the horn pieces.
Great prog rock album that, somehow, flew under my radar in 2018, available on Bandcamp. Reminds me of Blackfield.
