Totally agree on all counts.
Took a punt when I bought the L.P. it had just been released , the chap in the record shop I used to buy my records from said it was worth a try, they were unknown but it was both great musically and recording quality wise.
I think this forum does a similar thing to what a good record shop owner did, points out good music.

Listening to some of the albums of the year suggestions by the presenters on BBC 6 music. First off the excellent Ishmael Ensemble (as suggested by Huey Morgan) followed by a new album by Aroof Aftab as recommended by Cerys Matthews. So far, quite interesting.
