After rewatching This is England '90 (written and directed by Shane Meadows), I went down an internet rabbit hole to find out more about the lesser known actors…
Turned out that Poppy Corby-Tuech (who plays Juliette; Shaun’s new girlfriend in the final episode) joined the band a few years after the release of Kick, to work on WRM’s self-financed second album, sadly, still unreleased.
It seems that in 2025 they were back in the studio. So perhaps we will get the long awaited release after all…
I don’t know how I missed Kick twenty years ago; some great tracks.

Latest treasure-hunt find . . . Puer natus est: Tudor Music for Advent and Christmas performed by British vocal ensemble Stile Antico. I limit my “Christmas” music purchases, but this one looked too good. Glad I didn’t pass on it! Since I may not know many (all?) of these songs, I might be able to play these at any time of the year. Hybrid SACD in pristine condition. Totally worth $1.75.
