In 1967 Samuel Barber transcribed his Adagio for Strings for mixed chorus. How is it that great art can reflect its times in this way? It would of course be the string version that would be made famous by the Vietnam War movie Platoon.

The interesting part (forgot to add) is that is has versions in string, harp, voice, clarinet, flute, symphony, and brass.
