When merging albums I often get a message that there are more than one tracks with the same name and track number. Can’t we just have an option for the Roon software to delete one of the duplicates?
How would Roon know which one to delete? All you need to do is select (multiple) tracks and delete. Or better still, tidy up on the hard drive.

Good point. However, there are lots of file cleansing programs that allow you to select the rules to apply to select the file to delete in advance, such as keep the most recent copy, keep the longest, etc.
The very least Roon could do would be to highlight the dulicates.

Well, you’re right again. I think we could agree that that observation could be made about many of the Roon features. Still, it would not take much effort to program and would make cleaning up the merger of files much easier.
The way you could do it would be for Roon to 1) eliminate the lower res versions 2) prioritize a chosen source or drive if the files were identical.

Move the album out of the watched folder
Do Settings > Library > Clean Up
Re import the files to the watched folder
Often there is old metadata in the library that Roon will not remove , that work around removes all reference to the album in question and Roon has a clean start. It’s quite common with classical albums and box sets where multiple re-releases can confuse Roon.
