I’ve said it many times that ARC needs better user settings for playback cache. PlexAmp offers this and it helps massively with data issues on mobile networks. I just don’t get them using PlexAmp like I do via ARC.
This report shows how shocking the UK is we are rankled 46/56 for data. We are an overpopulated small place.
ARC is never going to be the best experience here in the UK until Roon wake up and give this type of setting to users. Whilst I know there is likely restrictions on streamed content caching there isn’t for local content.
Thanks to @Michael_Harris for bringing this article to my attention. As he knows how I feel about this.
Ha ha different forum, and 100% agree, that ARC is almost unusable for me unless I download content.
I thought you might like to read it and dislike it at the same time.
I will not be returning to ARC until it is as reliable as PlexAmp and I do not need to download all my content to enjoy a more reliable listening experience out of the house.
I would love for it to have features that allow me to select how many tracks ahead to cache (even if only for my own music). Without real world available bandwidth here in the UK, it will always be a challenge, unless you are on very low usage masts
