Why Aren’t You Listening to Canadian Music Right Now?

I am definitely looking forward to checking him out.

“Drill’N’Bass” = definitely not your typical singer-songwriter!

Great album - and an odd thread coincidence. It looks like Daniel Lanois recently did a collaboration with Venetian Snares, as per @Arlen’s post above!

EDIT: I just listened to both. The warmth of the Lanois album was appreciated after the sterile (but still very engaging) musicality of the Venetian Snares albums I listened to.

List of bands from the past who got little if any recognition beyond Canada’s borders, most if not all are available on Tidal.

Start if off with Love Junk from The Pursuit of Happiness produced by Todd Rundgren.

You can’t get much more Canadian than the Hip (well, maybe Stompin’ Tom).

I went to university in the Hip’s hometown around the time they were breaking out. I actually worked at a restaurant with Gord’s (RIP) sister and two of Paul’s sisters. They were all very nice.
