Windows 11 scheduled boot up

Hi All, having setup my new Windows 11 server (a.k.a Core) with ASrock motherboard, I decided to schedule a shutdown overnight and automatically boot up in the morning.
Shutdown was a doddle but can I schedule a successful bootup….NO :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
I have checked & changed power & boot settings in BIOS/UEFI and scheduler with zero success.

Rather than say what i’ve changed and prejudice responses, can anyone enlighten me with a successful method of setting up as I think I’ve tried everything….

Thanks in anticipation….:pray:t4:

Just a suggestion… Let Windows shut the machine down, and then break power with the timer. Configure your computer to start up on power on, perhaps? I haven’t tried this though__

I already have a time switch ready to go but was hoping to let Windows Scheduler/Bios do the job…

When Windows is shut down, it is shut down and can’t do anything. In the BIOS there may be something called an RTC Alarm or it can be named differently. E.g.:

Alternatively, if you have another computer (or mobile etc) that is running anyway, you may be able to set wake-on-lan on the PC and then send a scheduled WOL command from an app on the mobile

Thanks for the suggestion, will give it another try. I’ve changed so much I may not have given WOL a thorough check (2 ipads, 3 pcs & an iMac) . Then the life hacker article.

Boot on power restore & wol are both supported, i’ll resort to the former if all else fails.
I think it’s going to be a call to ASUS to get a definitive answer.

You were right, it’s not possible to schedule a bootup with Win11 scheduler on this Motherboard ().
It’s WOL or Start on Power restoration.

But thats not possible on any motherboard?!
You meant, WakeUp on RTC, i suppose…

Hi Mikael, yes it was rtc or any other means (which I’m now investigating)…
