Windows cannot access \\ROCK\

Continuing to setup my ROCK.

In File Explorer, when I type in \\ROCK\

I then get the error box
Windows cannot access \\ROCK\

Using the IP address gives a similar result.

I can access the Roon OS Web UI in a browser.
I’ve been able to format the Internal Music Storage drive.

So the Web UI seems to be okay.

I just can’t see or access the shared network folder and copy the missing Codecs to it.

Roon OS 1.0 (build 150) stable
Intel BIOS 60A

Having this problem on both of my Windows 10 based PCs.

Just how do I get file access to the ROCK and the Codecs directory?

Can someone please help me?

Just wondering whether Roon ROCK not appearing in Network on Windows 10 might be relevant to you?

Thanks mate. That was it. All go now on both PCs. Many thanks.

Are you up to date? Newest ROCK sorts SMB 2

All up-to-date.

Core: Roon Optimised Core Kit
Roon Version 1.4 (build 300) stable (64bit)

Roon OS: 1.0 (build 155) stable

Hello @Lloyd_Borrett,

What edition of Windows 10 are you using: Home, Pro, Education or Enterprise ?

Desktop: Windows 10 Pro - Version 1709, Build 16299.248

Laptop: Windows 10 Home - Version 1709, Build 16299.248

When I first had the problem it turned out ROCK wasn’t fully up to date even though I’d just installed it. But the Web UI doesn’t let you know this.

The fix above enabled me to get access to the share and install the Codecs.

Then I installed Roon on my desktop PC to continue configuration. Roon let me know about updates being available, so I installed them.

Surprised that the ROCK Web UI doesn’t check for updates and report if there are some available.
