Windows Subsystem for Android / Roon ARC

Hi,

Did anyone successfully install Roon ARC in Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11?

Are you talking about the Amazon app store integration?

I thought apps still had to be whitelisted.
If it did work it might be nice on my Dell touchscreen laptop as a tablet app.
Sadly it wasn’t available in the UK last time I looked.

You can sideload APK files in Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11 using WSATools - APK installer and more. If you install the APKPure App you can install almost any Android app.

It looks like Roon ARC doesn’t crash when I’m not at home, but it doesn’t connect/synchronize. I’m not sure TCP port 55000 outbound is permitted at the office.

Have a look at the TailScale VPN thread.
It is what I set up with full subnet routing to my Synology (though that is not my core).
Works perfectly when I am in limited WiFi connection

I will have to see if I can test this and possibly get the update in the UK.

@Archimago did.

The latest Roon ARC build installs without error. It still crashes when trying to synchronize. (Windows Subsystem for Android)

Do you have crash logs from Roon ARC? Does the latest Roon ARC crash?

I haven’t tried in a while, but today I downloaded and installed Roon ARC 1.0.25 (build 100074). It looks like this version is running without problems. :smiley:

Thanks, shame it’s not listed on the Windows Amazon store yet.
