ICE ICE BABY!!

ICE ICE BABY!!
15 years old today and still one of my favourite albums. An album that feels like a fevered dream and then there is the beauty that is Neko Caseās voice.
The beauty of Qobuz is that I can see an album discussed here and within seconds be listening to it!
Currently giving Fox Confessor a listenā¦I really enjoy well recorded Female vocals, everything from Joni Mitchell to Diana Krall!
Thanks Mark!
Fantasic album by a fantasic band.
Ann Burton āBlue Burtonā on Tidal as āCollectionsā: great production, nice voice and pay attention to the right hand of the piano player (Louis van Dijk)
Iāve just released a self engineered and produced album, made over the summer during Covid outdoors in my backyard by placing musicians safely 15-20 feet apart. All tracks are live with no overdubs. There were four different groupings of musicians. We would get together and play for the joy of playing 1-2 times a week, challenging each other with new material. None of these groupings ever rehearsed or played out as a band. I selected a favorite from various sessions to remix and master. Iām happy with the sound quality, and I would appreciate any feedback from fellow audiophiles.
Hhhhā¦well, if the cover is anything to go by, Iāll love that Ged @ged_hickman1. If only I could cut and paste that title quickly into YouTube, Iād be listening as I type.

Hey Dan,
I donāt sub to Tidal but listened to the samplesā¦sounds interesting and seems to have great mikingā¦Bet you guys had a great time making the album!
Thanks!
Thanks, Larry. You can hear it on most streaming services, but not in CD quality, except for Qobuz
This was the soundtrack to a couple of painful breakups when I was a young Dozer and lacked psychotic tendencies. Itās unrelentingly melancholic and difficult to evaluate properly knowing Ian Curtisā fate, as the review hints. I donāt listen to it as much as I used to, but I spent 2 months listening to nothing but once, so thatās not surprising. Still a very good album.
Salford Rules ![]()
Aside from that tidbit of Peter Hook information & my sister claiming he was the rudest member at her gym ever, I will say that Joy Division were essentially the soundtrack to my later high school years.
I have everything on vinyl as in 12" singles etc, books, whathaveyouās. I likely play them more than you and when I do it surprises me how āmagicalā they were.
Peter has for the past number of years completely put behind him the acrimony with Bernard & embraced his past, whilst Bernard is doing his New Order thing, although uncited as far as I can tell. Hooky has even learnt how to sing, not to mention his iconic bass lines are just integral (note ānewā signature Yamaha bass). And I think he does New Order better than Bernard anyway!
Peter Hook & The Light
(Iām pretty sure his son is the other bass player)
Iād love to see them & from all reports and the clips Iāve seen they are dynamic.
Sh!t, Iād seriously consider going to see them over in England later this year if itās at all possibly financially, covid, timing with my holidays.
Hereā¦have some Dead Souls also: (it sounds so fresh and damn good)
Not trying to make the songs their ownā¦just trying to make the songs Joy Division as best they can & Iād suggest they do a bloody good job!
FFSā¦when will he ditch those loafers. Never a āfashionā out here, unless you were of European descent (notably Italian, perhaps Greek).
The Perfect Kiss (New Order)
Peter Hook & The Light
Letās go - where are they playing. ![]()
Was the next videoā¦havenāt seen it beforeā¦Premiered Mar 9, 2021
Seems heās a good bloke also:
As part of Sweet Relief Musicians Fundās recent āFor The Crewā fundraising event, Hooky & his son Jack teamed up with Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder and drummer Shane Graham for a special lockdown live version of the New Order classic āCeremonyā.
All funds raised by this event went towards supporting out of work touring crews who have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
Ceremony
Discovered this band just recentlyā¦I know, they are a band for over 25 years now. Hence this album. I love the variety of music theyāre playing, but itās always make me āhappyā; although some of there lyrics are a bit darkā¦
If youāve not heard it yet āLive at the Zenithā is my favourite.
Exploring there discography nowš
My #1 overall.

Very nice but for me it is just impossible to have an overall #1.
I will be posting one a month but cannot pick any as a true #1 for meā¦
Fabulous album - I adore Songs from the Big Chair too.
I find it so hard to pick a favourite, so there are a few that vie for my number one in an eternal struggle. The ones that reach for most regularly, and never tire of, include:
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
Cream - Disraeli Gears
Supertramp - Breakfast in America
Rƶyksopp - Melody A.M.
Beatles - Revolver
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
