When we first moved to the USA we lived in Rockport for 4 months from Jan to May.
Then landlord said doubling the rent as its now “tourist season” where it swells from 2500 to 25000 residents for summer.
Bugger that and off to Florida we went!

A tomato Hornworm covered in parasitic wasp larva (white rice looking things). You can see the orange “horn” of the worm at the top. Crazy ecosystem in our backyard garden.

A hornworm parasitic wasp is a braconid wasp that lays its eggs on or inside a hornworm caterpillar, using the caterpillar as food for its developing larvae, which ultimately kills the hornworm.

Well, it got some of our tomatoes… so

We’re visiting relatives of my wife in Bavaria. They took us to St Wolfgang on Wolfgangsee in Austria near Saltzberg (Elevation about 570m above see level). From there we took the fenicular railway to the top of Schafberg (over 1700m above see level).

Here are a couple of views from the summit:

The second view shows the summit from a lesser summit on the ridge about 20 minute walk away. My wife’s cousin Sigi said it was an easy walk and to be fair, it was not too difficult but he is long term member of the Bavarian Bergwatch specialising in mountain and cave rescue and I have to say that his standards of difficulty in the mountains are different from mine - as is the speed with which he covers the distance.

Today’s day out was to Pottsville Arkansas.
A tour of an extremely well preserved stagecoach station was the highlight.
Apparently the only survivor on the Butterfield Overland Route that ran from Memphis all the way to San Francisco!!
27 days to do the whole route!!.
