Here’s a corner scenario which might be worth clearing up at some point. Scenario is this:
- Mac running 10.10.3
- Playing from TIDAL to System Output
- I inserted a USB-to-SPDIF adaptor (HiFace 2 but I doubt that matters)
- Went to Audio Setup, confirmed that it had been registered as an output device, enabled it and disabled it without ever selecting it as the output zone
- Pulled the adaptor out
- Spinning beachball of death
- App quits
