Aavik streamer - Experiences?

I am considering an Aavik streamer. Anybody already got one and can share some experiences?

Hey there. I’ve owned both the S-180 and S280 streamers. At present I’m using the S-280 with two Sortz Signatures. What questions do you have? I’m blown away.

I just wanted to know if there are any known bugs or glitches using roon with the S280 and if could be an improvement over my Naim NDX2/XPS DR. I guess I will have to audition one at home.

I have never had any issues with Roon. I’m assuming you’re talking about the S280? IMO, yes. It can be a huge upgrade especially if you are using the Ansuz foundation.

Yes, S280 would be relevant to me. I recently bought the I-280 integrated amplifier and switched to a full Ansuz X loom (interconnect, speaker cable, power cable, power distributor). The upgrade was so significant, that I am now considering an S280 as well. So, good to hear that you seem to be happy with the Aavik streamer.

I came from Naim. Never will go back. Don’t forget the Sortz Signatures. Lol

Well, I am not into those fancy, expensive plugs. Thanks, will see if I can arrange a demo of the S-280.

@Jeff_Nelson Do you use the DAC of the S-280 or do you use digital out into your U-280? Which Naim streamer did you use before your switch to Aavik? I consider a two box setup with streamer and amplifier.

I asked the guys from Aavik that question and all recommended using the DAC in the U series.
