I use Small Green Computer SonicTransport AP. I recently successfully backed up my library but noticed that I had multiple storage folders that were no longer in use. In the process of deleting useless storage folders, I believe I have deleted some necessary ones. I jut tried to put in 2 new CDs, and they are not showing up in Roon. There are three paths shown in Storage Music Folder: sonictransport>lib; sonictransport > lib64; and sonic transport > root. Can you help me add necessary paths?
Describe your network setup
AT&T router connects to SonicTransport and 3 other systems: 1. opticalRendu/Mytek Brooklyn II DAC pre via ethernet + optical switch; 2. ethernet to optical cable to ethernet to Mytek Manhattan II; 3. wiFi to mini Aries to iFI Pro iDSD Signature. Control by iphone or laptop PC fails to show the new CDs in library
I think if they are sub-folders of those you have included, Roon should find them. Don’t include any that will be seen as duplicate paths to the same music files.
Your last three folders should not be watched folders (lib, lib64 and root). These are system folders on your machine.
The first folder (Music Folder) is the only one that should be watched. Here, you also should store your music files.
In a web browser, goto this address: sonicorbiter.com
Then you will see your machine. Click ‘manage’ and goto ‘apps’ → ‘local storage’.
There you will see a phrase like: filesystem: /storage
This same file can be found in Roon’s menu where you can choose your watched folder. Like this, where you can also see the wrong folders mentioned above. ’Music Folder’ is an alias for the right location.
Both @Jim_F and @Arlen are steering you in the right direction here - we don’t have any additional things to add quite yet, please let us know how the above goes and if you have any additional questions along the way!
