Action on a composition should apply to this performance, not all versions[Ticket in]

When I open a classical album I see all the movements of a work nested under a composition name, eg:
Clarinet Quintet in A major

  • Allegro
  • Larghetto
    etc.

This is one of Roon’s cleverest, most intuitive features.

HOWEVER when I want to add this work to a playlist, I click on the three dots next to the name of the work, and add to playlist … but it adds ALL performances of that work to the playlist. Thus the playlist gets several different performances of the Clarinet Quintet, one after another.

This is counterintuitive - and no one (except for specific cases) would want to do this.

Instead, when we choose an action on a work within an album, the action should only apply to that album and not to other (invisible) versions in the library. If I want to do things to every performance of the composition I should choose “Go to composition” first.

This seems like it could be a bug. Tagging @support.

Hello @anonymouse,

We were able to reproduce this issue, it will be fixed in the future releases. As a workaround, for now, you can do the following:

  1. Select all composition
  2. Press 3dots button on Selection bar
  3. Press ‘Add to playlist’
  4. Pick the playlist

With this steps roon will add only this performance.
