Activity monitor on iMAC shows RAAT Server as (Not Responding) + Clicks and Pops during playback

Ethernet wired to iMAC and to Blusound Node 2i via TalkTalk WiFi Hub Router black Unmanaged ethernet switch that has TV and Amazon Firestick connected

Connected Audio Devices

Bluesound Node 2i/ usb 2TB hard disk attached with powered usb hub/ Optical out to Beresford Caiman II DAC/ Then to NAD C325 Amp

Number of Tracks in Library

Over 65,000 tracks

Description of Issue

Irregular short pops and clicks while playing. This does not happen while playing same material from usb drive to DAC. My library is stored on a USB drive attached to the iMAC.
Also when looking at the Activity Monitor on the iMAC it shows the RAAT Server as not responding. Is this normal behaviour?
I have tried various settings within Roon, and the pops and clitches remain.
