I have found at least two situations, where the re-scan of an album does not clear the old Roon data and re-scan from scratch
- the one with the directory being separated into two directories
- In the case I described here. Once Roon displays its own metadata, re-scan does not replace the Roon metadata with the pre-identification metadata. The only possibility to “unidentify” the album is to physically move the files away, clean up the database and move the files back.
It would be helpful to be able to go back to the situation after the initial album detection by Roon without going through the file move procedure.
I am fully aware that this case is a problematic one. But I am trying to get my database (which has grown over many years) into a Roon suited form, without having to resort to re-ripping half of my classical albums.
