Under Settings/General/Editorial Sources you can chose from where Roon is collecting information on albums and artist biographies today
That’s all fine but for me personally though, it would have been a fantastic upgrade if they added an option for users to customize album info and artist biographies to their personal likings.
Anyone else out there missing this option?

Another +1 for this feature. I have a playlist of albums/songs suggested by various people and would like to note the source and reasons given for the recommendation.
It’s 2025 and Roon still doesn’t offer listening notes! C’mon, literally 10 years of folks asking for it
For as long as Roon has been Roon, users have been requesting this. Roon has zero interest in giving users that kind of control over the UI.
This request is really only appropriate for streamed content as the ability to store additional text documents already exists for local content.
If the document is available as PDF or convertible to PDF (i.e. most formats) it can be added to the album folder on the hard drive and will show as a PDF on the album page. The same applies for additional JPEG , album art etc. as long as the file name matches Roon’s spec (I believe Folder and Cover)
This of course only works for local files , as any streamed content does not have a local folder.
I use this routinely for Booklets and Gramophone / All Music etc type reviews. I copy to Word and Save as PDF. (NB I am not overly sure of the copyright implications of this 
)
The drawbacks to creating a “pseudo folder” for a streamed album are ,
Where (in the db seems logical or a specific , probably hidden , folder on the system drive. NUC users usually have masses of spare drive space due to the smallest drives available.)
What happens when Tidal/Qobuz moves or updates or replaces an album, how do you keep track of versions. This is already an issue with the music files themselves, also the subject of a feature request I believe.
How to display , my guess is that a streamed album page is a re-script of streaming info and Roon info , which would not have access to your “new folder”. There is no display of Booklet etc as as a PDF even if the streaming service provides one
So a on the face of it simple request becomes a Tidal/Qobus tracking nightmare.
Simple answer , buy the music, rip and add what you want to a local folder. Maybe a tad simplistic.
Mike, this request is about adding missing reviews and biographies - not attaching PDF files.
Going through the whole process of creating and uploading a PDF just to jot down a thought seems a bit excessive
No, the OP is already about different kinds of notes, not just reviews/bios.
But mainly about to add free text or notes to an album. Roon is all about metadata, and cannot miss to extend metada this way.

I have so many artists with blank bios and blank photos, why?
On the genre pages I can basically do whatever I want according to my own preferences and granularity. Don’t agree with a genre tree? That’s fine, I can change the top level genre, edit the subgenres associated with it, even edit the genre ‘bio’ or it’s name if I don’t agree with rogue hyphens, etc.
I don’t really see how this is any different? I just want the option to control the information from the artist level, and from an album level, I’d love the option to make my own notes, and weblink to review sites so I effectively never need to leave the roon ecosystem.
MusicBox does a reasonable job at this, as shown below:
A place for personal reflections, an easy way to link to external review and community sites in-app.
This feels relatively easy to implement, so why hasn’t it been?
This is a question since day 1. I have a subscription to Gramophone and I would love to have the ability to link a review. No dice, unfortunately.
This will hopefully be available soon.
I usually create 2 pdfs for each album, one contain the DR14 values for each tracks and the second one contain a review of the album.
If we could have “personalized information source” such as a XML file in the album folder, it would be a great addition to Roon.
Roon already supports custom tags, which is fantastic. But what’s missing is a way to add free-form personal notes to individual tracks or albums.
I’d love to be able to write quick thoughts, memories, or comments tied to a specific song or album — things like:
These notes would be for personal use only, and ideally:
Why it matters:
This would add a “music journaling” layer to Roon, making the experience more intimate, meaningful, and useful for memory and discovery.

Quite often I found myself wanting to write and add a note about an album that I am listening too. Maybe its something that i discovered or a thought of feeling I have about the album, Would love to have the option to add personal note to an album and then these results appear as part of the search option in Roon.
