You (and I) don’t know this. It’s pure speculation on your part.
Correct I don’t know. Just a speculation driven by the fact that this request is 10 years old.

I would specifically like to add my own note when I add an album to my listen later playlist as to why I’m adding it. It’s often a friend’s suggestion and keeping track of why I want to listen later would be SO helpful… thanks!
Another vote for being able to add own notes to albums and tracks. These notes should be searchable. My listening is primarily classical from my own ripped CD library, plus some streaming from Qobuz. I find it very frustrating that in Roon I cannot search and filter on the comments field where I have a lot of miscellaneous extra data entered using my tag editor. I know I can view track comments, though it takes several clicks, but there seems to be no way to view album comments other than adding a pdf (and then only for items in my library). I’m relatively new to Roon and still learning my way around, but have to say I’m rather disappointed with the user interface.
Hi all, this is something that I’d love to see some day in Roon. I’d like to add my notes and comments from an album or from a song in the Roon software and automatically share it with the rest of Roon users and community so, if some user doesn’t know much about the record, he or she can consult what other Roon users said about the album.
I know we alreday have the Roon info from internet about most of the albums but precisely because that info is not in all of them, I think adding user comments will be a great feature.
Also, as radio DJ that feature will help me a lot when I’ll need to know more from that album and I can read my feelings when I listened to it for the first time.
Anyway, what do you think about it? Probably someone else suggested this before, because I think it will be a great addition.
Thank you! ![]()
What you’re asking for is another thing Roon staff have to monitor. I can see user comments becoming littered by trolls and pranksters and maybe worse. All of this would have to be policed by Roon staff and I don’t think they would want to do that. They’re currently dealing with images and that seems to be a challenge for them. I can see adding comments for your own private use, but sharing is problematic.
Well, that would work to me too, comments just for personal use, like notes.
I can see what you mean and of course, sharing would be a challenge.
The funny thing is, you can share comments about an album with others, but you cannot save these comments.
(You can save a pdf in a folder where local music files are stored, but that’s not very user friendly indeed.)
Hi @Santiago_Molina,
I’ve merged your request into this existing Feedback > Feature Suggestions topic.
If you’re interested don’t forgot to vote for it at the top of this page.
A simple notes field would honestly be the killer feature for me. I love the “listen later” flow, but would love to be able to attach information on who recommended an album, etc., plus listening notes. It doesn’t need to be a social feature – literally just a simple text metadata field would do, as long as I could edit it from any instance of Roon Remote.
The PDF “solution” is absolutely not acceptable. I need to be able to make these notations from my phone.
This feature would probably be the difference between me buying a lifetime sub or looking for an alternative solution at the end of my extended Nugs trial. Roon is so close to nailing the flow of music discovery tracking, and this is the missing piece.
Hi all, have a look at this thing I’m building to help with some of these issues Now Playing companion app
I’m new to this forum and could not figure out a way - other than replying - to show my enthusiastic support for this idea. Note taking would be a great improvement for me.
Add your vote at the top of this thread.
The number 2. would be enough for me (and for most of us as I read through) or at least a very good starting point
