Did you know that your Boulder (integrated) is certified Roon Ready?
To fully exploit its possibilities of up to DSD128 and PCM up to 32/384, connect it via Ethernet and directly enable it in Roon.
TLDR- I don’t know about how to mix in your Antipodes which is neither Roon tested nor Roon ready, but you really don’t need a streamer with the Boulder any more.
Boulder internally converts everything to PCM and resamples everything to its internal sample rate anyway, so you should set Roon DSP Engine to convert DSD to PCM.
Many thanks for your suggestion, but the best interface integrated in my Boulder, the one with fewer digital elements in digital signal path is an AES/EBU balanced Digital interface that is basically the only synchronized interface that my Bolder has. It is the only interface that connects directly to the DAC that is integrated into my Boulder, the Ethernet connection has to be converted internally from asynchronous to synchronous interfaces (PCM/DSD) first before being sent to the DAC internally and then with the asynchronous interfaces at the output of any streamer losing quality with the internal conversion that will have to be done whether you want to or not by an integrated streaming module which, as good as it is, cannot be compared to a K50 Antipodes with a dedicated and high quality Synchronous output (PCM/DSD) direct to the DAC’s synchronous digital source, whether internal or external. In terms of SQ i assure you is a huge step forward.
Thanks for your reply.
I thought about it, this DAC converts all to PCM and then resample. Never know why. I attempted to setup dsp properly but without success.
Perhaps is better to talk with Boulder support to explain me how the DAC works.
