I was just about to respond here – we have indeed done some work in our recent release to preserve the state of the page when the app is in the background or the device is locked.

This is amazing to hear and definitely a major improvement! Very glad to see this area improved too. Overall with the former scrolling stutter bug nearly completely gone the iOS experience is getting better and better.
