Airplay issues with Marantz SR7015 Receiver

Hey folks - I’ve been unable to stream via AirPlay to my Marantz SR7015 receiver for some time. Other endpoints work fine, as does AirPlay streaming to the Marantz from other sources.

The workaround some users have adopted of skipping a few seconds ahead doesn’t work.
Running current build (2.0, B1462) on my QNAP NAS. Thanks in advance for any able to help.

Please post a screenshot from the window of the Roon Server app on your QNAP NAS.

Thanks! Do you mean this? If there’s a web UI for the Roon Server on QNAP, I’ve never accessed it. I’ve since uninstalled and reinstalled Roon on the QNAP; the problem persists.

Here is your issue: grafik
From the project website:

grafik
Use this link to get your copy of the codec package: https://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/builds/ffmpeg-git-amd64-static.tar.xz
Follow the instructions above to install the codec file (called ffmpeg) on your NAS.

PS: AirPlay is AAC streaming

Update: I uploaded John Van Sickle’s build of ffmpeg to the required folder and restarted the server app. Still no dice.

Did you follow the instructions, extracted the codec file from the downloaded package (a.k.a un-compress it) and put the file ffmpeg into the designated folder on the NAS?

PS: If you’re a Mac user, please check that the file has the executable flag set (just in case) after copying it to the folder on the NAS.

PPS: I really hope that Multimedia/Music isn’t your watched folder in Roon. Roon’s database directory shall not be in a watched folder.

Ok, I finally managed to get it going! I had to download Apple’s “My Home” app on iPhone, add the Marantz AVR as a device & enter its Airplay passcode, and voila - Roon can stream via Airplay to the Marantz SR7015 where it couldn’t before.

Thanks @BlackJack for your attention. Thanks @daniel who gave this suggestion in a reply to another post

Hey @GreenMonster,

It looks like you and @BlackJack were able to solve your issue before our team was even able to follow up, great work and happy listening! :raised_hands:
