· Album artwork doesn't display consistently using the Eversolo T8, chromecast, and the Eversolo TV Art app. Tidal streaming to the same setup works perfect. The artwork/info is fine if Roon streams without interruption from track to track. If I skip a track, or select a different track, the previous track info stays and the screen changes to show two notes and a gray background (see attached pic). Restarting the connection to the T8 through the app will then show correct image and info. But the problem will reoccur if I skip a track or select a different track again.

· Connections are via wifi, keep in mind, Tidal works fine.
Because this specific behavior involves the interaction between Roon’s Chromecast stream and the Eversolo TV Art app, I am going to reach out to our hardware partner team. We are asking them to try and reproduce this exact issue internally on their end to help determine if there is a communication hiccup between the casting protocol and their display interface.
To help both our development team and Eversolo investigate this effectively, we need to cross-reference this behavior with your Roon Server logs.
Could you please reproduce the issue (skip a track so the artwork gets stuck on the gray background) and reply here with the exact date, local time, and the name of the track you skipped to? Once we have that timestamp, we can pull your diagnostics to see exactly what metadata Roon is sending out when the skip command is triggered. We will watch for your reply!
Played first part of song Echo from Chainsmokers album Love is Kind. Artwork was fine. Then skipped to track Five Past Three on same album at 10:07 pm local time on 5/12. Artwork went gray. Thanks for looking at this.
Thank you for providing the exact track names and timestamp. That is exactly what we needed to narrow this down.
We have reviewed your Roon Server diagnostics around the 10:07 PM mark on May 12th. The logs indicate that everything is operating normally on our end; the track skip is processed smoothly, and the correct metadata and artwork links are being successfully handed off to the Chromecast protocol without any errors or drops.
Because the data is leaving Roon correctly, the “gray screen” issue appears to be related to how the Eversolo TV Art app handles the metadata update during a Chromecast skip command.
Next Steps: We have officially passed your report, along with our log findings, directly to our hardware partner team.
They are going to attempt a local reproduction of this exact scenario in our testing environment.
They will then file a formal report with Eversolo’s engineering team so they can investigate the Chromecast implementation within their TV Art app.
From your side, you can also report this to the Eversolo in the meantime
Thank you for your patience while we work with them to get this sorted!
Opened a ticket with Eversolo. Here’s the response:
Hi Tim,
Thanks for reaching out to Eversolo.
Thank you for your feedback. This issue is currently confirmed to be related to Eversolo TV Art, and our R&D department is already following up and working on a fix.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for sharing that update from Eversolo! It is great to hear that their R&D team has confirmed the root cause within their TV Art app and is actively working on a fix.
Since the resolution will come directly via an update from Eversolo, there is no further action needed on the Roon side, and I will go ahead and close this support thread.
If you run into any other Roon-related issues in the future, please feel free to open a new topic and we will be happy to help. Thank you for your detailed reports that helped track this down, and best of luck with the upcoming Eversolo update!
