For the last month or so, album cover art is not displaying from Tidal.
Cover art displays fine when browsing through albums, but as soon as an album is added to library, the cover art disappears.
It affects all platforms (Roon remotes on iOS devices, Roon Mac application,) so I assume it is a Roon Core issue?
I can’t find an obvious answer to why this is happening.
Roon Core Platform
Roon Optimized Core Kit (ROCK)
Roon Core Specifications

iPad (wifi), iPhones (wifi), Apple TV (wifi) - HDMI, sonore microrendu (Network cabled) - USB - RME dac, ROCK (wifi) analogue out.
Home Network Details
FTTH internet, ASUS XT8 router, HP procurve managed switch, cat7 cable to Roon ROCK. Mix of wifi and fibre cabling to clients.
Yes, I tried clearing the cache. No change. I have the same problem across all iOS apps and the Roon application on my Mac so i guess it’s a CORE problem.
I can get album art back by removing it from my library - browsing through Tidal is fine - but as soon as an album is added to my library the album art disappears.
Managed switches can be very robust, but they are often designed for professional installation, so in many cases the out-of-box configuration is not right. If your switch has a “flow control” setting, please make sure that it is enabled. Also, make sure that the switch is not performing any sort of throttling that might impact communication between cores, storage, remotes, and/or audio endpoints. Finally, ensure that the switch is configured to pass multicast and broadcast traffic. If in doubt about any of this, try temporarily replacing your managed switch with a “dumb” switch to see if things improve.
Unplug whole network, restart one piece (modem, router etc.) at the time.
Besides clearing the image cache, which you tried, it’s also possible to clear Roon’s entire cache. At least with my setup, running Roon on a Sonicorbiter platform. There, I can clear it… but I don’t know it that’s a possibility with ROCK.
I had been a prior Roon user with Tidal and don’t recall having an issue with this prior. However, I wasn’t using for a while and just started back. I am using a Mac as the core currently. I am having the same issue with album art not showing on approx. 50% of the albums from Tidal.
How do I go about resetting the database and re-importing the library which worked for you?
Thank you for the response. I was unable to locate that setting so wondering if not available when using Mac as the core. I uninstalled and redownloaded and it is working fine now so not sure what happened there. Thanks and enjoy rest of the weekend!
