Description of Issue
I have an album added and I keep adding a tag on it, but it’s constantly losing it. The album is Into the Blue by Broken Bells (if that plays any part).
It’s crucial to me not to lose the personal tags that I add to 100s of albums.
This is VERY frustrating…
Does it happen only with this album or others too?
Streaming or local files?
Which tags?
Does it happen only with tags you add new?
Do you have other albums that you tagged in the past and is the tag retained there or also disappearing?
Is the tag really gone or just not displayed?
If you focus on the tag that disappeared, does the album show up anyway? If you open the tag menu, is the tag still checked although it is not displayed? (In this case, the tag is just not displayed but remains saved on the album)
If after adding a tag you go to another page and then refresh the album page by bringing up the album again, is the tag still not displayed or did it maybe return?
Does it happen only with this album or others too?
So far I have noticed this only with this album.
Streaming or local files?
Local files. FLAC ripped from my personal collection. No streaming services connected to Roon. Only local files.
Which tags?
Does it happen only with tags you add new?
It happens only with one tag that I add to every new album that I add to the library. So the tag has been there long before the album got added and tagged.
Do you have other albums that you tagged in the past and is the tag retained there or also disappearing?
The tag is applied to ~20 albums and it’s being applied to new items in the library and gets removed once an album is considered part of the collection. So far I have noticed this behavior only with this album.

The tag gets removed from the album. The album is displayed in the library, but not under the specific tag. I just add it and moments later is disappears.
If after adding a tag you go to another page and then refresh the album page by bringing up the album again, is the tag still not displayed or did it maybe return?
Nope, it didn’t return. I have to manually add it again and later is going to be removed again.
I am sure it will help support. At least rules out another issue. The latest earlyrelease test build does not display any user tags on artist pages although they are there, and does not display newly added custom genres on albums until you refresh the album page. But this looks different and I guess you have to wait for @support.
It happens when I delete any of the songs of the album from Edit > Delete track.
It happens both when I delete a track from the playlist and from the album view.
So by the time I delete a track, it removes every custom tag from the album!
I believe that this will help you further.
And I know that this might not play a big part in your priorities, but this is such a pain for me every day. I hope that this gets fixed soon.
