Hi I did read up before posting this problem but the solutions I read are not working.
Problem: I have a few instances of 2 albums, one local (DSD) and the other FLAC (Tidal). I only wnat one album to show in my Roon library. When I select both albums, click the vertical edit ellipses, and then group alternate versions, both albums still show under the artist’s main albums.
My Question: What am I missing here/how can I fix this?
Troubleshooting: I have closed and reopened Roon. I also refreshed the page with a different artist then came back etc. No change.
Maybe not the same release (different track count)? Also naming at least one album might help others to check this out. You can also post screenshots here to show what you are seeing.
The example in case is Fairground Attraction’s The First of a Million Kisses. After grouping alternate albums, I still see 2 albums under the “Main Albums” section on the Artist page. One album is marked DSD (local) and the other is marked CD (Tidal FLAC). I was hoping that grouping albums would show me only one version i.e. whichever I mark as primary.
Thanks for this suggestion. Show hidden tracks and albums is set to yes. However, I have not hidden any albums or tracks. Perhaps this is a workaround for my issue, although not really what I want. I’ll have to read up about what hiding an album does vs. grouping an album.
Then that is indeed what is happening. This KB link is worth reading.
Once your alternate albums are grouped, they will appear under your versions tab and you can choose which one is the primary. It is just that the alternative versions won’t appear in the album listing for the artist. By selecting the version tab you can still bring the other version into focus and play tracks from it.
