Albums show as unavailable and removal delayed on Roon 2.57.1598 with Tidal on macOS 15.7.3 (ref#R1X2I6)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Music won’t play or issues with my library

Music won’t play or issues with my library

· Streaming tracks greyed out or unavailable

Tell us what's going on

· I'm running Roon 2.57.1598 with Mac OS 15.7.3 (Sequoia) and Tidal.

Even albums that I've just played are showing up as unavailable. Removing the album from the library does not actually remove the album from the library right away. My workaround has been to pick the artist and when the software selects a song from the "unavailable" album, I can add the album back to my library.

Hello @scott_powell ,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know. We’ve enabled diagnostics mode for your device and we are escalating your report to our team for review. Is there any change in behavior if you log out/back into TIDAL? What if you try to clear your cache?

  • Exit out of Roon/RoonServer (from the taskbar)
  • Find and open your Roon database
  • Navigate to /Library/RoonServer/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs

I did the following:

Logged out of Tidal and back in

  1. Exited Roon
  2. Logged out of Tidal and back in
  3. Removed the cache folder
  4. Restarted Roon

The cache folder was recreated but in a different location than it had been: it is now a sibling to database and not a child.

I have the same problem with albums that are part of my Tidal collection marked Unavailable. But it does seem like the problem is getting worse / that more albums are unavailable than last week.

Note I didn’t use Roon for a couple of years and only started using it again last month because of the Roon-ready WiiM ultra. Prior to that I used Tidal directly connected over USB to my other DAC.

It had been working fine with both the WiiM and the C47 which I even had playing sync so I could compare headphone audio quality. The problems started this weekend.

Hi @scott_powell,

Thanks for all the additional information! To confirm, are you able to verify that the specific version of the album that is showing as unavailable in Roon, is available on Tidal directly?

Since some time has passed, it could be a case that Tidal has updated versions of albums and thus needs to be manually updated within Roon (this is tedious, you have my apologies here.)

Thank you!
