The desktop installation is on the latest version and the problem seems to only be affecting Qobuz albums and not my local albums.
I am not sure why this is happening but it is obviously not expected behaviour.
It would be expected if you have multiple versions of these albums and you have Settings > Show Hidden Albums = Yes on Windows and No on Android (in which case they would show under the Versions tab on Android, instead of separately).
Heathenreel by Elvenking (the green album) has one other version but it is not in my library and would have a different name (one Anniversary Eddition and one normal version) if that other version was in my library:
Some of the other albums also have alternative versions, none of them are in my library though.
The “Show Hidden Albums” option is turned off on the Windows machine.
They are exact topics, all of them contain all the songs, have the same album reviews, same genres. In short, they seem to be carbon copies,
Interestingly, I just played the first song from the Bela Fleck “Jingle All The Way” Album. Which made the album I queued disappear as expected, since a song from the album was played which for the Focus means the album has been played:
The other four versions, however, were still there. I say were, because once I went to another view within Roon and then used my bookmark to only show unplayed albums again, it has updated and all versions are now marked as played. This is correct because on all five versions the first song was played, again, suggesting that they are indeed the same album, just displayed five times.
The interesting part is that when I don’t use the focus to see only albums that haven’t been played but simply filter for the album title, all five are still there:
I should have probably chosen a different album to test this with, Christmas songs in April when the sun is out and it is actually starting to be warm are just not my vibe…
Restarting the server did not help, but after the restart it showed that there was an update available for ROCK and the Windows App. Installed it, database was updated and now everything works as it should again.
Maybe the old database had some kind of funny issue with the Windows installation? I guess we will never know.
