Can anyone reproduce this? Album view, sorting by Artist, filter on a certain artist: some albums are shown twice or even triple. This only happens on the Mac version, and only when sorting by Artist with a filter used. Sorting by Most played, Date added, Date or Album title looks fine.
If you reproduce the filtered view on iOS an iPadOS the number of albums are looking as expected, and exactly the same in any type of sorting.
Sounds like it might a variant of the “Case One” in the following post/thread.
I’ve seen this in more than one way. Can’t reproduce it right now with the steps you described, but most recently I reported it when sorting My Albums “by most played” and then using a text filter, which seems very similar:
I solved it in the meantime: deleting the app, restarting the Mac and reinstalling the app did the trick! Very strange that this issue can occur but it’s solved for now. I will report back in case the issue resurfaces.
It’s probably going to come back. Which albums are displayed as duplicates, and how many, changes all the time.
Let’s hope the upcoming fix helps, but maybe it would be good to post your reproduction with screenshots on the other thread, as an additional test case for Roon Labs.
I second this. In my case, I have noticed that the albums start duplicating once you start playing long playlists, and the albums are duplicated are within those playlists…
Had it lots but not since they claimed to have fixed it, but Roons not always been up and restarting the server always clears it for a while. I also removed all playlists although they are only for Qobuz and not in my library.
I don’t they have said that the “Case One” if fixed, I think it’s still “in the pipeline”. Case One is the multiple display of the same album object.
For the actual splitting up of VA albums, Case Two, I believe they have said that there was a fix, but there were still instances after this (toward the end of the above linked thread)
Just saying since they releases what ever fix I have not had the duplicates again. I never got the split albums only duplicates and odd album count showing more than I have.
I see duplicates (Case one) and odd album counts still in Early Access 1489, which should be essentially the same as production 1490.
Strange, but as I said I have not had Roon permantly running for a while its always been off or restarted a lot due to other maintenance, so may be hiding the issue as for me it always came about after a significant amount of uptime.
Yeah, I’m not sure how often they appear and if I always see them when they do, as it seems to change dynamically and reboots seem to make it go away for some time.
I also caught it counting up silly amounts of supposed selections:

I’ve had that symptom intermittently for quite some time. The fix for me is to simply restart the server. This is on a Windows machine with the server on a NUC Rock.
