Description of Issue

At random while listening on the m10 the music suddenly stops and all the roon ready devices including m10, powernode, vault and wiim pro plus will vanish from the app. However their still listed as available airplay devices I can enable. After, anywhere from a few seconds to many minutes, they will suddenly reappear and I can resume playing. This is recent maybe the last 2 months or less.
The devices are still accessible from the respective apps.

Hi @Justin_McMurdo

Welcome to the Roon Community.

Just a fellow Roon user.

How are the xd5’s integrated with your main router?
Do you have one connected to the main router?

Are these acting as just wireless APs/extenders or forming their own mesh network?

Are all your devices on the same subject?
Example 192.168.1.x

Or two subnets
Example 192.168.1.x & 192.168.0.x

AirPlay might be functioning as mDNS might be automatically turned on, which helps with networks similar to yours.

Ensure your Sonos devices show WM:0 in the Sonos app.

This’ll mean they are all on SonosNet connecting to the Boost

If WM:1 they’re on wifi

I experience this as well. But my Roon Ready devices aren’t Sonos.

Here’s my thread about it.

I suspect it’s related to issues discussed here:

Hey Menzies
The xd5 are a mesh to the RT-ax89x. backhaul is 5g direct to the router from each. Sadly the m10 has suck poor wifi that a hardwired node is needed. All running off the same gateway/subnet and have had this configuration for a couple years without issues. This is a newer issue. The only new device on the network is the Wiim Pro which has been working flawlessly since the addition in November.

Confirmed. SonosNet has been very reliable over the years. Side note, I added an era 300 in August and it no longer supports SonosNet. The bathroom it went to has poor wifi and it could not be used. Even though it has had a Sonos device in it working flawlessly for 14 years.

Hi @Justin_McMurdo,

Thank you posting.

Is there a pattern to the file type, sample rate, or bit depth of the track playing when these RoonReady endpoints disappear?

Do you have an example of a dropout, either via timestamp or the name of the track that was playing when it occurred?

We’ll activate diagnostics to take a look and follow up from there.
