Using this build of Dietpi the popping and cracking is better but not completely gone. I have a thread open on audiophilestyle. I was also advised (as per @oneofmany above) to -
I can’t comment on NAA, but I can say that the sound quality of the USBridge Sig as a regular Roon endpoint is shockingly good. Noticeably better than the Pi3/DigiOne it replaced.
Note that I did have issues before I started using the custom ethernet driver from Allo.
Just received my USBridge Sig. Powers up, doesn’t seem to connect to network. Using ethernet, have green light, can see it in my Comcast XFi app, can see it’s IP address. But not showing in Roon, and that IP address shows as not connected. Thoughts? Thanks.
Apologies in advance if you’re across all this already. If you’re not, then I hope it will be of use. I’m running ropieeeXL on my Sig. It acts as a Roon endpoint, but the XL version of ropieee also has the option to turn the device into a spotify or airplay player – very handy.
A great “how to” guide is at the bottom of this page (follow the link at bottom when you get there) – you can ignore all the parts about adding a display: https://ropieee.org/getting_started/
When Ropieee is installed and running (wait 5-10 mins for the fast blinking on the SIG’s LED to settle to slow 1/2 Hz), you can connect to http://ropieeexl.local/ on your network. Then make sure you have the “Audio USB” slider turned on (screen grab from mine below).
Whatever OS you have flashed to your SD card, it’s very likely that you’ll need to navigate to the SIG’s webpage, and configure it to look for your DAC. You should be able to look at your router and see the IP for your SIG, which you can then enter into your browser.
