How can we help?

· I'm having trouble adding music to my library

Describe the issue

The analysis has been stuck on one file for over 2 hours. Tried rebooting Roon server, but still having problems

Describe your network setup

Verizon Fios. Fios router. PC running roon server connected via network switch. Never had problem before. Using Roon on Windows 11 machine

Try restarting the network components too, turn everything off , start the network, wait for steady internet light then start the Roon server

May work

Tried this. Still not fixed. Thanks for suggestion

Is what you are experiencing the same as this: BackGround audio analysis speed stalls [Investigation Started] ?

NO. Mine is occurring while trying to add a new file to my library.

That’s when I also get the phenomenon. Not just renaming, as in my most recent post.

After adding.

I think it’s on making any change in the Watched folder.

As @Mike_O_Neill says, restarting Roon’s server often appears to fix it.

But it’s never clear (at least to me) whether bouncing the server just suppresses the (apparent?) bug; or whether it somehow does cause the analysis process to complete.

Hi @steveoat87,

We’ve activated diagnostics for your account since your post to investigate further to identify the problematic file in the analysis process.

Are you able to compress and upload the following local file for our team to investigate? You can use this Media Uploader:

Reinhard Goebel / Musica Antiqua Köln - Complete Recordings on Archiv Produktion - “Harmonia artificiosa-arioso: diversi mode accordata: Partia II in B minor for 2 Violini piccoli and Basso continuo. 2. Allamande - Variatio”

Thank you!

Conor
Happy to send. However, this is a 75 Disc Box Set. In order to help me find it, could you tell me what disc this file is on?

Thanks,

Bruce

Hi @steveoat87,

I’m afraid that information isn’t contained in diagnostic logging. If you’re still encountering this issue with the offending track listed above, the most expedient way to find it would be to search within a File Browser or to use the Tracks browser within Roon, and then locate the underlying file in your local storage.
