Android phone as an endpoint?

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Nucleus + 2020

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Netgear router and network switch, all hardwired to streamer, Cocktail Audio

Main System Cocktail Audio into Vinnie Rossi L2iSE and Volti Rivals

Didn’t we used to be able to use an Android phone as an endpoint? When I look under Settings–Audio, the option for the phone to output does not exist. I feel like this was a thing at some point, using droid devices instead of other Roon endpoints…call me crazy…or demented…or bad memory…

Android phones are end points. Are you looking in settings, audio on the actual phone?

No, under Roon on the phone app…

Android devices are private zones by default.

I had two android devices dissappear from the audio devices list yesterday.
Rebooting ROCK and my home network brought them both back.

So how do I select it as a zone? It will only output to the headphone jack or will it output via bluetooth?

Settings > Audio > Device Setup > toggle private on / off

It will output to the default.

OK it’s working. I think it was the Roon update that was temporarily making my phone act wonky.

Thanks everyone.
