Apple Music High Res

Neither do I. Shipped to me just fine

I’m in no rush to get it from overseas hopefully they add Roon Ready to it, I don’t care for Amazon music at all. It would be to see how it works. Can’t return it easily if not from UK.

As far as I know , the WiiM streamer can’t play Amazon hi-res .

You’ll need to look closer at the pic and what I wrote

You wouldn’t know about it because this because this beta firmware has only been with a small group for couple of weeks and Darko hasn’t made you a video yet :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It’s also why I wrote ā€œyour move Appleā€

I’m sure you know the Wiim optical output was tested over at Audio Science at 141 THD . That’s incredible performance.

All we need with any optical source is ā€˜bit perfect’, which the WiiM Mini is up to 24bit/192kHz.

Couldn’t resist the $800 discount from Verizon. Traded my iPhone 11 Pro Max for iPhone 13 Pro Max today for $400. Both the new iPad Mini 6 and iPhone 13 Pro Max are 5G and both working great with Roon on my Dell. Unfortunately, the Dell is still locking up.

Greetings from Berlin. Apple Music has by far the strongest AI compared to all the others  Did not expect that, but… Everything on my side canceled. But Youtube for the videos  Best Mike

If I didn’t own lifetime Roon, I would cancel Tidal and Qobuz and go with just Apple Music. It works all the time everywhere.

Well the problem is Apple is not available on many streamers and you have to use Airplay ,which cant play hi res and as far as I know cant play lossless with AIrplay 2 but can with streamers that are Airplay 1 .

You have to use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac for lossless. For high resolution, you need an external DAC connected to one of the above. Don’t use Airplay if you want high res lossless.

I dont want to use my iphone to do this. Its my business phone with lots of activity.

Then don’t. We each do what works for us, not someone else.

Vinyl, CD, and Apple Music. It’s all I need. I still have 6 months of Roon left but I haven’t opened it for weeks.

I’ve just done that.
Removed Mac Mini, Dac and all the cables that went with it.

At 62 I seem to have got bored with cables, turning everything to the correct output etc.

I now just have a Sonos Port connected directly to my amp.
If I want to listen to hi res I use my headphones with my colbalt dac.

Sonos gives me access to all my music and radio plus airplay when I just want to select something directly from Apple Music.

Might not be the highest quality but good enough and so simple to manage and use.

Just found this:

Personally don’t listen to a lot of Classical music but this looks pretty impressive.

Just downloaded app. Makes Apple Music much easier to use with Classical Music. Can search for compositions much better. Do not play a lot of Classical Music but will definitely use this with Apple Music when I do. And it is free ! (And sounding fine)

well 24/96 in most scenarios requires a DAC too. You can go with 48/24 without one. Think my iMac supports 96 but no iPhone or iPad w/o DAC. +++ Meanwhile I agree to the Apple Music boss, it is all about spatial audio… For my stuff spatial audio brings most of the fun. Sure, you need th Apple headphones for that to have really fun,
