Description of Issue
Roon ARC was working fine on my Samsung A52s 5G cell phone, but then it stopped and would not boot up. This may have occurred after an Android up date, can’t recall. Now have Android Ver. 13 on phone. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the ARC APP several times. Now all that happens is I get a logo (see screenshot). The app will not start.
Thank you for the post. To clarify, when you installed ARC initially or after reinstalling, are you using the Play Store download, or the APK package from the Roon downloads page?
The Play Store download has an authentication wrapper from Google that can, under certain circumstances, trigger behavior similar to what you’re experiencing. If you haven’t tried already, I recommend downloading and installing the APK file here: https://download.roonlabs.net/builds/RoonARC.apk
Note that the APK download does not automatically update, so I recommend switching back to the Play Store when we next release an update from ARC.
Please let us know if this helps and we’ll investigate further from there.
Wow! That fixed it! Shudda asked for help a few months ago when this first happened. Geez.
Yes, I have only downloaded from the Google Playstore - initially and for the many reinstall attempts. Kept thinking it was a bug that surely would be fixed. Did not know other options existed for download.
Anyway, downloaded from your link, had to allow downloads from unknown sites (an easy remedy), and then it installed correctly (and quickly) and appears to be working normally now. Cued up my workout playlist for the next trip to the gym.
