I’m playing with the new download settings and so far so good.
I hope that the problem of automatic log-out and loss of all downloads has also been resolved
After enabling it, how do I stop smart download?
I can’t find the Smart Downloads settings anywhere. It only appeared when selecting Smart Downloads from the filtering list in the Downloads view but now I can’t go back to it.
Hi, @Ammad, could you, please, provide a screenshot of the Downloads browser? Also, could you, please, elaborate on what does this mean filtering list in the Downloads view
?
Thanks!

Exactly, same here
Only at the time of setup can I access the screen. then I can only see the screen with the albums that are downloaded
I have the same behavior on Android ARC - no Smart Downloads under Settings.
A post was split to a new topic: Albums which were downloaded are not being excluded from playlists downloaded by the smart downloads feature
Thanks, @Piotr_Pekala, @Ammad, @Daniele_Piancastelli, does the problem persist after a reboot of both Roon ARC and your RoonServer? It looks like a problem with a feature toggle that controls this area.

I managed to find and configure the smart downloads option initially (not accessable via settings?) via My Library - Downloads, including specifying the preferred format and amount of space to set aside. But it doesn’t seem to
- trigger any downloads
- when revisiting I can’t find any way to access configuration options again, just see this :
Am I missing something obvious
Fairphone 4 / Android 13 / on home wifi but not charging
There was one more switch that wasn’t set correctly, so for those who don’t see the smart downloads feature: you may need to reboot your Roon Core and ARC a couple of times.
That solves the issue
Yes, I had to reboot but it works now.
Also in the settings tab now i can see “smart downloads” option
Same here and now populating . Thanks @vova!
I’ve been having some connection timeouts all morning. Music will either buffer or just stop playing and need to be restarted. Also can anyone confirm if anything has been done to fix notification handling on Android namely when GPS will start to play over music and also native/play pause controls on Android?
This is interesting in a good way it seems. I had started playback of a not-downloaded track. After the reboot to make Smart Downloads work, when continuing playback of that track, (by then downloaded through smart downloads), Arc picks up seamlessly it seems from the downloaded copy. Nice!
I downloaded the ARC apk from the release posting but it’s showing as
Build 100207 not 222. So there are no download switches showing etc.
.
.
Also is the Android remote supposed to be 1354 as that’s what I’ve got.
A strange thing about background downloads (android 14).
If you bring ARC to the background, the current album download stops and when you bring ARC back to the foreground the album is automatically brought to the back of the queue and the next download starts
Roon ARC on my iPhone worked right away with WIFI and cellular. Roon ARC on my two iPads would not connect until I did a reset of each. Now they both work with WIFI and cellular. I also made a point of clicking on the Smart Downloads although I did not activate that feature. I don’t know if that had anything to do with getting the iPads to work or not.
All good here.
We didn’t release Roon iOS and Android builds. As for ARC - try once more, it should be updated. But to better understand a use case why do you perform a manual install instead of doing this through Play Store?
