I seem to get an ARC crash report every day in the morning either when I unlock the phone first time in the morning or a little later out of the blue, although I did nothing with ARC during the night or previous day. Sent two reports from iOS already, today had a third one that I didn’t send.
Hi @Suedkiez ! Thanks for your report. Our developers are working on the fix for this.
Hi @oneofmany , what happens when rebooting ARC? Do you have a big library to download?
This is a good callout and something we had initially planned to implement. It was causing all sorts of unintended bugs and to get this release out of the door, we had to simplify the design to simply play the downloaded file when it exists.
I agree with you and see where you’re coming from though. On my list for future improvements!
Thanks for the report
Connectivity issues are known and we need to tackle those.
SDL only works on WiFi for now.
SDL not starting immediately is something we need to investigate. I’m not sure there’s a connection with Qobuz being on, but can look into it.
What about the surprisingly small number of albums that SDL downloads?
Is that intended?
In my case as I play albums in roon they get downloaded by SDL, up to 17 now.
19.
21.
In my case nothing has beed downloaded by SDL since the initital download of 9 albums - not even one album played afterwards.
I’m using Qobuz.
It will only download local albums not from streaming services.
If you play a qobuz album and you don’t have a local version you won’t get a download.
Hmm. I got 100’s of albums within a few hours after setting it to 5 days of music, but I did have to leave focus on Arc (phone open, plugged in, Arc on screen). But it also did download in the background just much slower, which is as expected (Spotify does the same thing, albeit it seems faster even in the background because files are even smaller, and Spotify having a world-class CDN means files are closer to me than if served from my home ROCK). I set mine to balanced, latest Arc, latest Rock early release, latest ios on iphone 15 Pro. Would be interesting to get more detail on what kit & settings you have and what you’re doing.
That’s obvious…
So there must be something specific in my setup.
I was leaving ARC in foreground and unlocked - that didn’t help. Manual downloads work.
Arc downloaded library is almost empty as I was logged out 3 weeks ago and lost all local content.
Qobuz is a common factor with one of previous problem reports.
I chose Original Format, ARC on Android
Hi @oleh
I have 1056 local albums and 808 in Tidal.
I had tried rebooting my core and restarting the ARC app on my phone several times but miraculously just as I had read your response I went into smart download and it downloaded an album in front of my eyes. It immediately seemed to start the next. This was just as I was going to bed last night.
This morning I noticed that the second album did not download:
But I just did another restart of the ARC app and as long as I keep the ARC app open on my phone it seems to download.
Actually it has now stopped at 9 albums and the smart download icon has now turned white again.
It’s been a few days and I have to say FINALLY ARC is working really well on Android.
Your WiFi zen isn’t strong enough my child
Force close Arc as I found this occured with my iPhone 8 on iOS 16.5.2
YMMV, As this is EA
With you on this @mackid1993
Found it to be very stable now I know how SDL works and what the secret sauce means (looking at you @Michael )
Roon, bar a few niggles is working as I need.
Other issues are being investigated, such as search.
@Nathan thank you for your candor in recent threads, very refreshing
I did nothing and it realized on its own during the night that there is wifi, so I don’t know how long it takes, but it’s a possible source of confusion
We created a ticket for our dev team, @Piotr_Pekala, that’s a bug and I hope they are going to figure out how to fix it soon:
Thanks!
