ARC connection again

Hi @Ron_Sanders,

In the experience of the Roon team, the Bell Home Hub series of modem/router combos don’t Bridge to a third-party router in such a way that prevents address translation from taking place within your local network. So, if your Core is connected to your own router (the Orbi) downstream of the Bell Gigahub, you won’t be able to place the Gigahub in “Bridge” mode to prevent it from blocking port forwarding.

However, other users have successfully configured port forwarding by configuring an advanced DMZ. I have linked a post describing this process in detail - hopefully, the UX for your Gigahub is similar to the other Bell models in your region, so these steps will translate 1:1.

It’s important to note that you should ONLY connect anything on your home network to the Orbi (downstream) router if you configure an Advanced DMZ on the Gigahub. This is because you will be removing the Gigahub network firewall entirely, and relying on the Orbi’s network security layer instead. That is perfectly safe, provided you don’t place a connected device in front of the firewall by connecting to the Gigahub’s Wi-Fi.

We’ll be here to assist, and thank you for your patience so far.
