· ARC is *Not Ready*

Roon Error Code

· “natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”}, “upnp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”} }

Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?

· I've turned UPnP/ NAT-PMP on and ARC won't connect

Describe the issue

I cannot get arc to connect. I have reset everything, tried Tailscale (didn't work) disconnected Tailscale, reset everything again. Arc worked when I was using my Mac with Tailscale but when I went to a ROCK server I cannot get ARC to work. Here is the error: {
"ipv4_connectivity": {"status":"NetworkError","status_code":504,"error":"error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined"},
"external_ip": {"actual_external_ip":"174.ddd.eee.fff","actual_external_ipv6":"null","router_external_ip":"null"},
"natpmp_autoconfig": {"status":"NotFound"},
"upnp_autoconfig": {"server_ip":"192.168.0.1","found_upnp":true,"error":"Did not find UPnP service with WANIPConnection on network"}
}

Describe your network setup

I am running ROCK with a C3000Z modem on Centrery Link DSL. The remote end is an iPhone XR. Everything worked fine on my Mac server but not on the ROCK server

Hello @Jerry_Kilbourne ,

Thanks for reaching out with your report. It looks like UPnP wasn’t able to be automatically configured for your router. Have you tried to manually open a port forwarding rule on the router and it failed? Are you making use of both IPv4 and IPv6 on this network? If you navigate to the ROCK Web UI, does it list a valid IPv4 address there?

I was trying to avoid a manual port forwarding since that should be a last resort, But I fumbled around and figured out how to do that, tested, still didn’t work. Reset everything, tried it, still not work, changed the port and then changed it back reset everything and now it works…so far. Honestly, I don’t know what fixed it but I have manually configured the port forwarding and Arc seems to be working as of one trip in the car yesterday.

I don’t know what this means but I guess I don’t need to worry about it anymore

in summary - the issue is resolved

Hello @Jerry_Kilbourne,

Thank you for the update.

herePort forwarding is generally a safe solution, as Roon only accepts specific encrypted connections. However, if you still have concerns about exposing ports, you might consider using a Tailscale VPN connection as an alternative. You can find the instructions .

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, or if we can go ahead and mark this topic as resolved.

Hi @Jerry_Kilbourne,

We’ll close this thread out, but please reach out in a new support request if you have any issues going forward. Thanks!
