Describe the issue

ARC intermittent connections to Roon Server after upgrading to MacMini M4 with Sequoia 15.1.1 accessing via WiFi or Cellular. Regular Roon app works flawless.

Settings are all the same as previous with a static IP on the Mac same as shown on Roon settings, Arc. Also using port forwarding to Arc port but have put everything back to auto and same issue.

Arc simply won’t connect to Roon server although it will connect after reboot of Mac or refresh on Arc settings page.

Issues started after upgrade to Sequoia 15.1.1. Local Network settings have Roon options on.

Describe your network setup

AMPLIFI Alien router with static up and port forwarding but have tried without either and same issue. Restart computer each time. Turned Upnp on and off in router no change. Roon works fine with all home devices. issue is Arc.

Hi @Acharya,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this issue.

We’ve had a number of users who updated to Sequoia and had to toggle this option of and then on again. It seems the Sequoia update switches it off but the UI doesn’t reflect it. Please let us know if that resolves your problem with ARC.

Hi Daniel,
Toggled Roon off-on in local network Mac settings with issue remains. Have to refresh Arc in Roon settings or reboot computer to get it to work until Arc app stops connecting after. Googled in and saw others had the same issue. I remember both Sequoia and Roon were updated around the same time so could be either or both.

I have Mac network firewall on same as always have when it worked. Set to allowing Roon, Roon Appliance, RAAT Server and others to allow incoming. Although it has worked like this for years maybe something new. Will try turning firewall off just to check otherwise pls advise.

Thanks

Hey @Acharya,

Let us know if you run into the same issue with your Mac firewall temporarily disabled.

Have you tried using a different port number, both in your Arc settings as well as your routers port forwarding settings?

Thanks for following up. I turned off the Mac firewall and restarted. Roon ARC port was empty so I reset the port, changed port forward on the router and it’s been flawless since! Makes no sense to me but it seems solid so far.

Another question is how to change the username on this community account?

Thanks!

@Acharya ,

As a matter of security I hope you don’t mind the doublecheck. Please remember that @Benjamin requested that you “temporarily” disable the firewall. Did you reactivate your firewall?

Thanks for checking! Yes I turned it back on after restart then changed the ARC port and Router port forwarding.

I did turn the Firewall off before I did all this but still had the ARC issues which led me to turn the Firewall off, restart, Firewall on, ARC & Router port changes. Still working solid.
