Arc issue asking for server update [actually: ARC from Production freezes at logo on launch]

hi i have updated both Roon server and software as per photo attached i have tried to update the Roon Arc software. The android app store version doesn’t open. i removed that version downloaded direct from Roon that version stated i needed to up date server software (see pic). Again went to update the software it said samething. I removed that version and went to early access version it said the same thing as pic.

please help as I am on holiday soon and looking forward to playing albums for my Room libary.

You can’t mix early access and production build, so avoid this. Nonetheless, I note that you are not running the latest Android version: I’m on B1407 for both remote and the server. The ARC version should be 1.0.52.

i have removed all version of Arc from my phone gone to the Roon Download and downloaed the last version from Roon Website. on opening Roon it just stays on the logo nothing happens. any advice

I am also now running b1407 and downloaded latest version of Arc but when i run it, its just stuck showing the logo. no idea what to do next. this seems to be ever time an update comes i have problems.

B1407 is Roon Remote. Is this an issue, or is there an issue with ARC?

Reset your network, and disable any VPN you may have, and try again. Also, close the apps on the phone, or restart the device.

i have done that downloaded the app from play store and opened the app stuck once again on the arc logo nothing opens nothing happens.

What’s the version number of your ARC? You can see it in the Play Store

sorry cant see what version it is. i have tried to download from the play store but that version just freezes at the logo.
i have downloaded from roon site that does the same.
the only version that opens but gives the message above time to update server. is the early access version.

Yeah, it is normal that the EA mobile/remote version asks you to update the server occasionally. Mixing it not a good idea - sometimes the EA mobile and Production server (or vice versa) may be compatible, but it’s inevitable that some larger updates break compatibility.

If it still doesn’t work after a reinstall of the Production version, then official support has to take a look. Such cases have been seen before. I am moving this to Support

Hi @martin_smethurst ,

That error message shows when you are running different branches (production vs earlyaccess). I would try to uninstall the Roon app on the Android remote and ensure you have left the Google Play beta program:

Leave the beta program

  1. Open the Play Store.
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Manage apps & devices → Beta.
  4. Find the Roon app.
  5. Tap the app to open its detail page.
  6. Under “You’re a beta tester," tap Leave → Leave.
  7. Repeat steps 4 - 6 for Roon ARC

Use the app’s public version

To continue to use the app after you leave the beta program:

  1. Uninstall Roon and Roon ARC. Learn how to uninstall apps.
  2. Reinstall the public versions of Roon and Roon ARC. Learn how to reinstall apps.

I have done as requested and its solved solved the problem.
