ARC offline mode

While testing to see if the ARC offline album art bug (feature) has been fixed in build 379, I see there’s a new behaviour. It appears album art survives, albeit low res, but if you haven’t touched the album while online, there are no tracks to play. Toggling on/offline seems to fix it, but quickly downloading a few albums before jumping on a plane will end in major disappointment!

This sounds like what I reported in EA for this release here, and it was reproduced and acknowledged but probably not yet fixed:

(And I’m pretty sure you will find that the offline covers are not fixed either. I guess what you have is just one more of these random cases we had before, where it appeared improved for a while until it didn’t. In any case, still not working for me)

Thanks for that… interesting :face_with_monocle:

@svitlana fyi :wink:

So far my album covers are is not working for many albums in offline mode. I am also missing a ton of downloaded music now. Shows the album as downloaded but either no tracks showing or it says unavailable.

That’s a shame.

Yes, album art missing when offline is long outstanding, and this current problem surfaced a couple of builds ago. I’m trying to like ARC, but it’s hard…

Is there any practical and stable procedure to force ARC to keep downloaded files for offline usage, with regular cover art resolution, for literally endless amount of time, for some thousand tracks? Without ARC interfering?
I may think about testing ARC again, but only if it provides a reasonable way of handling offline mode. Since offline would be most important for me while being somewhere outdoors, without any connectivity.

I did a clean install of about 40 hi-res and dsd albums and so far everything is working and sounding fine in offline mode but will keep you informed if there are any hiccups
