Describe the issue

I am experiencing a problem when using ARC, whereby the play history is incorrectly recorded and tracks are shown as having been played more than once. This mainly appears to be happening when a song is paused or interrupted (eg when switching off my car at the end of a ride or when there is a connection problem), but not sure that is is always the case.
I first noticed the problem about a week ago and saw that there was a long list of tracks (that were played during the preceding month or so) listed in the history as having been played 252 times each (as well as some with lesser play counts)!
I have cleaned up the history manually as far as I could, disconnected ARC from the Roon server and reconnected it. I am now keeping a close eye on the history to try and figure out what is going on - as per above it seems like the problem occurs when a song is paused or when there is a connection problem on ARC (which occurred fairly regularly in the past but not since reconnecting it to the server).

Please let me know if you require more information and will appreciate any help!

Hello @Johan_van_Wyk

Thank you for reaching Roon support and for the detailed description of the issue and the steps you’ve already taken.

To help us narrow this down, could you confirm what happens in ARC after the connection drops or playback is interrupted? Specifically, do you usually restart the track from the beginning, or does playback resume from where it left off?

This detail will help us better understand the conditions under which the duplicate play counts appear.

I just let it resume from where it stopped or was interrupted.

Hi @Johan_van_Wyk,

Does this happen no matter the file source? I’d be curious to see if this happens with both local files as well as qobuz files.

We’re discussing this case internally as well, so I hope to have more information to share next week.

Thank you!
