Describe the issue

My ARC stopped working. It cannot connect to Roon. When I try to login I get “To connect, make sure your Roon Server is turned on and configured for remote access. I am using a MacBook Air (M2) as my Roon Core. Roon, itself, is working fine. My modem/router is a Netgear CAX80.
Thanks.

Describe your network setup

Router/Modem - Netgear CAX80. WiFi to MacBook Air as Roon Core, which connects to Moon 390 by Moon Network, not ethernet cable, per Moon Tech Support.

When I try to login to Security on my Netgear CAX80, it tells me that my password must be reset. Will this affect the wifi login? I have 16 devices on the router and do not want to change all of them.

Hi @Evan_Press,

If UPnP port forwarding suddenly stopped working in a one-router configuration, it’s often because the provider has implemented CG-NAT above your account level. Other times, it’s because other software in your network is competing for access to the same port as Roon/ARC.

In any case, a much simpler solution than port forwarding (since you have a Mac RoonServer) is to install Tailscale. This wouldn’t require you to access your router settings at all. Instead, you’d just install Tailscale alongside Roon and ARC.
