- In case mobile internet on start isn’t good enough - continue play will not start never. More than In ARC on phone also can’t be found last played list or radio. May be (I haven’t found why) it will start later but mostly I need to wait good internet and start playing again - not good as it prohibited to use phone in the car during also I stay on red light. Strongly need to be fixed.
- ARC play stops on case the connect was not good enough in the middle if driving and will not continue - same as first.
- ARC lost previous list. (Don’t know why?).
Just download your current favourites into ARC to have them available when you’ve no interwebs. This doesn’t however work for qobuz or tidal content.
To play downloaded content I don’t need ARC, Roon and pay huge amount to not working App.
If the network is not good, there is not much roon can do other then caching files locally. It’s pretty much the law of physics of the internet.
IMO, no need to manage the files manually and download, transcode, delete with just one click and seemlessly switch the downloaded/streaming is the core value of ARC. Although it has some hiccups, I’m quite happy with ARC. It used to be pretty bad but it’s been improved quite a lot over this year.
Really? Are you sure? So why other apps could and Roon not, may be different internet? Or may be you don’t know how it should be done?
Working perfectly for me on both Burmester and Bose systems in my two cars. Here’s an idea for you to consider ARC App on iPhone significantly improved with latest update - #9 by Norman_Spector
No it’s not.
Same opinion.

Excellent idea. I have some Qobuz albums which are really easy to download on my iPhone with albums from my Roon collection – all in 192 or 96 or DSD to listen to with a dongle not on CarPlay where I’ve loaded some albums from my collection in 24/44 or 48.
I found that ARC was more stable when I used Tailscale as the bridge to my home server rather than port forwarding. I still wouldn’t call it perfect, but much better.
Are you comparing with other app that stream files from your home server? Or are you comparing with other streaming services like Tidal?
If the other app also stream from your home and if that doesn’t have the problem, there could be some possibilities. Like the app does transcoding to smaller size codec like opus 96.
TBH, I always use Roon ARC with “Balanced” or “Bandwidth Optimized” when I’m listening outside. The environment noise is just too big so there is no point of using FLAC. That can make the traffics more than 10 times smaller without any noticeable quality change.
If it’s not the case, I can not believe there is a black magic that the other app can overcome this fundamental bandwidth limit. As a infra/network engineer, I’m dead curious to learn that technology if there is any.
If you are comparing with other streaming services like Tidal, it’s not an apple to apple comparison.
I do some addition selection for you. May be with this selection you will stop write some not related messages and will understand the real issue I speaking about? May be, this is new year now and I hope some miracle could be happened ![]()
If you still not understand just now write anymore… Thanks
Its likely a combination of your 4G and/or the home network your server is on (that ARC is streaming from).
I use ARC in car every day and don’t have any connection issues.
I’m always asking did you read and understand the issue?
Jason is saying if your local network isn’t good enough, your upload specifically and your current internet provider. Other apps on your phone do not need to go back to your house and back out again to function, this is how Arc functions.
Btw, others have answered this question correctly. As to your 2 points, continue play is not a thing on Arc and yes, the connection will stop if the signal is not good enough. This is how it’s designed, around your home internet setup!
I think everyone is trying to help.
Exactly. But the responses kinda make you not want to bother.
Do you expect to get any help from strangers on the internet with that attitude?
If you want a response from Roon or want to vent where they will see it, you need to post in Support category or Feedback. They don’t monitor this discussion category.
