Arcam ST5 freezes

Hi,

Whenever I start playing music directly from Roon on my ARCAM ST5, it freezes, and I have to reset the device. However, I don’t encounter this issue when using the Chromecast connection.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem?

Please share a screenshot of the Signal Path within Roon when you encounter this issue with the ARC ST5.

Does this issue occur with all DSP disabled in MUSE?

Can you reproduce the issue with all file formats, sample rates, and bit-depths?

Our team will activate diagnostic logging. In the meantime, please share the name of a track that was playing (or the approximate timestamp) of the last freeze with the Arcam Zone playing.

Here with the info you requested. The Signal path and music I was playing. It is Flac 44.1 kHz 16 bit.

I don’t know how to disable DSP in muse. I don’t see the option in the pull down. I can only choise one of the presets.

In your logs we’re seeing intermittent connection losses with your Arcam.

How is your Arcam connected to your router? Is there any hardware like switches between it and your router?

As a next step, I would definitely see about setting up a hardwire ethernet connection from the device to your router, and see if your issue persists. If it does, share the track title and we’ll take another look! :+1:

Hi, I connected the ST5 to the Router and the problem persists. Played the same Mahler 8 record.


If I use the Chromecast connection it works normal.

Hi, I did as instructed. Tried multiple times to do a usb update, but every time it indicates the update failed.



I also noticed my ST5 has the most recent version.

And the problem persists. Played Mahler 8 record again and ST5 freezed.
After restart I did a lot of other recordings and experienced no freezes.

Could it be the Mahler 8 record is corrupte?

I just deleted the Mahler recording from my album collection. Played the whole night without any problems. Maybe it is just this recording.

How odd, that certainly seems to be the case. If the tracks were corrupt, we’d likely see traces within your Roon Server diagnostic report.

If you re-import and analyze them, does the same issue occur again?

Just tried to play the track again. Same problem! Its from Tidal. Time 8.19 pm CET.

The problem persists. Its not just the Mahler track. I cant play any track. For your diagnostics: between 8.20 and 8.30 pm CET.
