· Artists are now appearing in "Recent Activity: Played"

Previously, the “Recent Activity: Played” section only displayed albums that had been played, but now artists are appearing there as well. What’s more, it displays artists who participated in the played album but were not the primary artists, which is quite inconvenient.
Was there a change in specifications in a recent release? The release notes for version 2.73.2 do not seem to mention any such change.
If play is initiated on an artist explicitly, the artist always appeared in Recently Played.
However, I don’t think that playing an album should add the artists from the album. It never did for me and still doesn’t. Not sure what’s happening in your case.
In my case, I usually play entire albums or local/Qobuz playlists; I’ve never played music by specifying an artist, so the artist name hasn’t appeared for me so far. For now, I think I’ll wait for a response from the support staff.
We tried to reproduce this on our end, but we could not get the same behavior. Could you let us know exactly how you start playback when the artist shows up there?
For example, if you’re starting from an album, a playlist, or an artist page, that detail will help us narrow down what’s happening.
Looking at “My History” (as shown in the attachment), the issue occurred while I was playing a Qobuz playlist featuring Latin music. The artists listed—such as Claus Ogerman and Antonio Carlos Jobim—are associated with that playlist.
However, I tried playing the same playlist today, but the issue did not recur; the album displayed correctly.
It isn’t a critical issue, and since there are no other reports and you are unable to reproduce it either, please feel free to close this thread for now.
I will reach out again if the issue happens to recur.
I briefly suspected unauthorized access, but I reconsidered since ARC is disabled and access is restricted to my home Wi-Fi network, making that unlikely.
After all, if my account were being used illicitly, I imagine I wouldn’t be able to use my Roon server myself.
Thank you for checking again and for the screenshots. Since it played normally with the same playlist and we haven’t been able to reproduce it, we’ll leave it here for now, as you suggested.
And no need to worry about unauthorized access: what you saw matches the content of the playlist you played, not someone else using your account.
