I am building a research instrument to record video and audio at once in a sealed underwater housing. I have little experience with audio electronics.
I am trying to find an affordable audio card option with recording quality at least as good as the Zoom H1n recorder I’m currently using. My current data is in 44.1 kHz, 16 bit. I am using an Aquarian H2D hydrophone that needs at least 2.5V of bias power.
I am told the Raspiaudio Ultra board is probably not good enough A/D resolution. I am told the HiFiBerry DAC2 ADC Pro should work. I’m wondering if there’s a more affordable option, as I’m building several of these and the cost adds up. I am also leaning toward not using Raspberry Pi, but Orange Pi or some alternative that can capture 4K video.
Please let me know if you have any advice. Thanks!
