Audio Device Connection Lost After Idle (ref#95T3FS)

· Sonos

Does the device show up at all in Roon Settings -> Audio?

· Yes, it shows up there, but it isn't Enabled

Does the "Enable" button unlock the Zone?

· I pressed Enable, but the Zone remains disabled

Does the device play audio from another source when using the same connection?

· The device has no problems with another audio source

Have you checked that Roon is whitelisted in any firewalls?

· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains

If the device has multiple output options, do the other options work as expected?

· Multiple output types are affected

Is the device using the latest firmware as per the manufacturer?

· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

· It happens all the time

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· Sonos, Apple, Wiim. Ethernet wired

Describe the issue

Everything is correctly connected but when trying to play music O have a message that says Roon has lost connections with the audio device. If I restart Roon Server I am able to play music but after a few minutes in idle, the issue cames back.

Describe your network setup

Roon Server runs on a dedicated Max Mini M1 with latest macOS 15.4.1. This Mini also runs Plex Server but I have zero issue with Plex. Everything is connected through Ethernet. I also own multiple Sonos devices and Airplay devices.

Thank you for your report. Are you experiencing these issues with Airplay, another protocol (like Sonos itself), or a mix of different audio/connection protocols? The simplest way to answer this question would be to share the details or a screenshot of the Signal Path in Roon in the configuration with which you experience these lost device errors.

In the meantime, we’ll activate diagnostics for RoonServer to automatically upload logs to our servers. Our team will inspect these closely to determine what RoonServer has logged as the cause of the dropout. We’ll follow up with recommendations or next steps.

Please leave RoonServer running on the Mac Mini for at least a few minutes so the log reports can reach our servers. Thanks!

I have the same problem Today, Sonos doesn’t work via Sonos streaming. But it works with Airplay2.
Roon lost control of the audio device…
I had no problems yesterday.
